For one night, I had the one man that millions of women worldwide fantasize about.

My time with the French billionaire Michael Asara shouldn't matter, but it does. Because one night left me with so much more than a good time.

Except, he has no idea that he left me with more than a smile on my face, because I fled without a good-bye. And planned to never look back.

Until I'm forced to tell Michael about the product of our one-night stand while on assignment a year later in Paris.

Already a devoted dad to a little girl who was abandoned by her gold-digging mother, Michael isn't looking to get burned twice.

Unless that fire is between the sheets, where our chemistry is off the charts. Reconnecting and proving to him that I'm not like everyone else quickly has Michael staking his claim on me and our son.

For a moment, we're almost like a real family.

But when a blackmailer comes along and threatens to take what belongs to him, he vows to do anything to protect us...even if that means letting us go

My daughter is my entire world, but my father views her birth as a blemish on my record. He loves Gabrielle and treats her like spun silk. But whenever I talk of taking over the family business, he mentions the circumstances of her birth and accuses me of poor judgement. And because I still wet my wick more often than my father likes, he thinks I haven’t changed.

I need to prove to him I am more than a pretty face for the cameras and women to love. I can run the business. Closing this deal in America will show him that.

However, coming to SAX Lounge before I head home and being loudly called an asshole by one of the most beautifully ballsy women I’ve ever seen will not.

She is breathtaking... whoever she is.

She’s taller than most women, but still at least a full foot shorter than me. Her legs went on forever in that dress and her skin is the color of browned butter. It looked smooth and touchable. She wore little make-up and when she spoke to me, her full lips begged me for a kiss.

I almost obliged them. But I can’t take chances like that. I’m in America, but that kiss could end up all over the French tabloids before I landed back home. Plus, I don’t know her angle. She could be just as predatory and traitorous as Gabrielle’s mother, Eve.

I need to feel her out; to get her close and away from the crowd… on the dance floor.

I didn’t notice her at first, which is probably a good thing. If I had, I would have charmed her until I talked her right out of what I imagine being very sexy panties. Instead, I was accosted by one of the many groupies I tried to shake off when I entered the bar. I can’t believe women over here even know who I am, but I should have known better.

Gold diggers do their research.

But the feisty woman at the bar doesn’t strike me as a groupie. Everything about her screamed refinement and respect.

She looked moved like she commands any room she enters.

Her eyes were an intense chocolate brown with specks of gold that demanded my attention.

Her ebony hair swung confidently down her back as she walked away. And that ass… C’est manifique!

Meeting her made my decision to get my own drinks for the night a worthy one.

When our drinks got mixed up, I wanted to play with her. I knew she was there first; I should have given her the drinks, but I wanted a reason to talk to her. Plus, I didn’t like her answer when I asked a favor.

I really needed to go. Leaving my cousin Kwame alone too long in a place like this is not a good idea. He’s a magnet for mischief and trouble. Her defiance made my dick throb, but it also made me want to discipline her. I can’t be told what to do and when she begs me to fuck her, because she will, she will learn she can’t boss me around.

Which is what I’m sure she does to everyone else in her life.

So instead of getting on my plane, I am planning how to get her into my bed.

Another night in D.C. won’t be bad at all if I have her shapely legs wrapped around my waist. Gabrielle is at Disneyland Paris with her maternal grandmother for the week, so I can spend an extra day here to have some fun with the mystery woman.

When she called me a fucking asshole, I wanted to take her pretty mouth and cleanse it of those filthy words. But I held myself, which is a feat. I usually take what I want. No one speaks to me with such disrespectful words. But if I have my way, she will apologize through multiple orgasms.

When I reach the booth Kwame secured for us, I slide his drink to him, but he barely registers my presence. He’s wrangled three women, and they are all practically naked and chomping at his rich bit. I do not have time for this. One woman licks her lips and gives me a look that says I can do anything I want to her... for the right price. But that’s not what I’m looking for.

Tonight, I want the woman who I’m pretty sure won’t do whatever I want without being perfectly persuaded. I want the woman who had the gall to call me an asshole.

“You all look cozy.” I shoot Kwame a look, and he squirms. My plan was to keep a low profile, and this is the exact opposite. “If I knew we were having company, I would have ordered more drinks.”

The women smile, and Kwame laughs nervously.

“No worries, cousin, this is VIP. Bottle service will start soon. Why don’t you sit down and join us? The ladies were just telling me about their favorite places to visit in D.C.”

“Yes.” The lip-licker purrs while patting a space beside her. “Why don’t you come and take a seat next to me.”

I conjure up the best smile I can. “No, I don’t think so. I’m actually looking for a friend.” Her face drops, and I can see the flash of annoyance in her eyes. She’s used to men just falling face-first into her fake cleavage. But I am not most men.

“Kwame, I will check on you later.”

He doesn’t protest, but I know he’s annoyed. I doubt he will keep those ladies interested without the major cash cow in the booth. But that’s his problem. And so is drinking.

Kwame drinks and gambles way too much. He boasts about power and money that he does not have. And he’s always dragging me into foolishness. I’m practically his babysitter, but tonight I have other plans. I have a woman to find.

I stop by the bar to grab another drink. Hennessey neat. I scan the lounge, and it doesn’t take me long to find her. She is sitting in a booth on the opposite side of the bar, holding court with two women.

She looks even more beautiful, relaxed and with her girls. The two women with her are also beautiful but can’t hold a candle next to her. She reminds me of a young Diahann Carroll. Her deep golden skin shimmers under the lights, making her beauty stand front and center. They are celebrating something. I hear her table scream congratulations as they toast their glasses.

Now is as good a time as any to introduce myself.

(Boss of Seduction)

Publication date: May 22nd 2021

Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Synopsis:

One engagement can save two reputations… if they can keep their hands off each other.

When claustrophobic Anna gets trapped in an elevator with hunky Skylar, the last thing she expects is to exit an engaged woman. But Skylar insists tongues will stop wagging when people realize she is marrying him and not sleeping with her boss.

Skylar’s father (her boss) invites her to spend Thanksgiving weekend with his entire family in Vermont, and he won’t take no for an answer. She has no clue how she will get through four days under the same roof with the sexy, arrogant Skylar. Then she discovers they expect her to share a room with her fiancé. Now what?

With her job on the line, will she also be willing to risk her heart?

This book is a little STEAMY. if you don’t like that, you can skip those scenes and still enjoy the book. It isn’t erotica, so there isn’t much to skim over. But if you enjoy the love scenes, have at it. :)

Excerpt

Then the trees parted to reveal a covered bridge. It reminded her of a movie she adored, a sweet love story that made her cry every single time she watched it. Skylar’s arm looped around her shoulders, and he pulled her close. She glanced around to see if they were being watched. The house wasn’t even in sight now.

He took her onto the bridge, stopped in the middle, and pointed out the peaceful water below. A problem with their plan surfaced in her mind. Although she didn’t want to intrude on his thoughts, he needed to know about the trouble waiting on the horizon for them.

“Your grandmother knows we’re lying,” she said.

He scoffed. “No, she doesn’t.”

“When she took me up to your room, she mentioned Clare.” Anna stopped talking when he stiffened beside her. His arm dropped from her shoulders. She rushed on. “I didn’t know who she was talking about.”

“You didn’t tell her that, did you?”

“She caught me off guard.”

Skylar placed his hands on the railing and leaned forward, tension bunching the muscles in his upper body. After a moment a short burst of laughter parted his lips. He took a step back and looked at her, smiling. “Grandma Dot is ninety, and everyone humors her even though we know she’s not as crazy as she acts. My parents let her get away with murder. Just ignore her.”

“What if she tells your mom or dad I didn’t know about Clare?”

“I don’t think they’ll be surprised.” He shrugged as his hands slid into the pockets of his faded jeans. “They know I don’t like to talk about... the past. My family has tried to get me to spill my guts a million times. If anything, they’ll just tell me I need to open up to you before the wedding.”

Anna nibbled on her lower lip for a second, knowing she was about to cross into dangerous territory, but unable to stop herself. “If we were engaged for real, I’d want to know about your first wife.”

“What if I don’t feel like sharing?” His eyes narrowed on her face, and he folded his arms. “Then what?”

“I’d try to get you to open up to me.”

“How would you try? What would you do?”

“I’d tell you that I loved you. But if you can’t trust me, I can’t be with you.”

Stunned expression, he shook his head as if to clear it. “You would break up with me just because I don’t want to tell you everything?”

Tears pricked the backs of her eyes as her insecurities came rushing forward. She reminded herself their relationship was fake. It felt real there for a moment as if they were having a real fight, and it actually hurt that he didn’t trust her enough to open up. But none of it was real. “Never mind.”

She spun around and marched back in the direction of the house, leaving him to follow or not. Part of her wanted to run, but if his family saw, they might start to suspect. Of course, she could always tell them she was mad that he wouldn’t share information about his first wife. He called after her, but she kept going. She should thank him for reminding her that relationships were too complicated, too painful. It was a hard yet necessary lesson to learn. Even though seeing happy couples in love squeezed her heart like a vice, she was better off concentrating on her career.

About the Author

Kasi.jpeg

Kasi Blake learned that writing was her superpower when she was in the third grade. The teacher asked the students to write a short (one-page) story about a pet monster for Halloween. She heard the other kids all saying they were doing vampires and werewolves, so she chose to write about a pet mummy. Her story made the entire classroom erupt with laughter. That's when she realized words had power. Then when she was in high school she had to write a short story for a class and put it off until the last minute. While talking to friends that morning, she scribbled it out and handed it in. The teacher thought she'd plagiarized it. That's how good he thought it was, but her friends backed her up. Later in college, her writing ability saved her from a bad grade in history. It was a writing-intensive course.

What's your superpower?

(The Tremaynes of Texas, #1)

Published by: Tule Publishing

Publication date: June 3rd 2021

Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Synopsis:

She thought she’d protected her heart…

After a tumultuous childhood, nurse Jamie Westmoreland craves the comfort of predictability. She loves her quiet life in a small Texas ranching town and finally feels in control until a handsome rancher becomes her newest patient. But when his charming little cowboy son starts following her around, her long-neglected heart opens.

Thomas Tremayne, the eldest son of a well-respected local ranching family, is both mom and dad to his young son and has no plans to change. When a ranch injury requires an in-house expert, the nurse who called him out on his attitude is sent to help him heal. She’s even harder to resist on his ranch than she was at the hospital, but Thomas is determined to try—except he’s out-numbered. His son decided he wants a mom, and nurse Jamie is his choice.

Can two stubborn adults let down their guard long enough to let love in again?

Excerpt

She returned his silent gaze. Something passed between them. A mercurial, unseen vibration that was felt and unexplainable. A mournful howling of a coyote in the far distance broke the moment, sending her eyes in a frightened race to search out the unseen predator. Thomas felt every one of her nerve endings jump to attention beside him. He straightened his stance into one of immediate protection from some unforeseen menace.

“Relax. It’s just a coyote calling out. He’s far away and won’t come closer. There’s no danger.”

“There’s always danger…” she responded, but not di- rected at him and spoken just above a whisper. She turned and left him alone on the porch. Had he imagined the words? No, he heard them. Coupled with the look in her eyes that had flashed in a second, it left him questioning again what it was that lay hidden in those eyes. And why in that second had he been moved to want to discover and slay whatever real or imagined dragon that caused her pain? His gaze searched the growing darkness. There were answers out  there somewhere. He was determined more than ever to find them.

How Not To Seduce a Man

Ristorante La Brezza, Positano, Italy:

Tuesday, 11:26 p.m.

The dynamic lesbian duo I meet on the train from Rome to Positano are full of wing-woman potential. I’m traveling alone, so the refined, blonde Parisian one who reminds me of a beautiful wood nymph invites me to join them for dinner with her friends. Her saucy British girlfriend, more nympho than nymph, orders me to come. I accept out of curiosity and fear of insulting the Brit, who was clearly Wicked Spice, a sixth girl, kicked out of the group for bad behavior. Anyway, I didn’t just come to Italy to research a book. I came to meet people and have adventures. This qualifies as both. Positano is a sleepy, gorgeous town near the Italian Riviera, and the warmly lit trattoria is right on the blue-green water. I have no idea he will be there. Dinner is eccellente. Dessert does not go as planned. If you are ever traveling on your own Italian-love-cation, here are some things I learned.

HINTS FOR NOT BEING “TOO AMERICAN”:

1. Espresso is to be enjoyed after dessert, not with. (What are you, a hedonist?)

2. Fragola and Limoncello are digestive liqueurs. Not shots. Trust me. (You don’t want to be cleaning your own strawberry-lemon smoothie off the floor of your pensione bathroom at 2:00 a.m.)

3. Italians don’t do doggie bags. (Even if they were the best meat-balls you ever had in your life, don’t try to put the last three in your purse.)

The meal is finishing up.

AT THIS POINT, IF: you’ve been playing footsies with the sexy photographer across from you, only to realize it’s actually the female Alitalia pilot or the leg of the table…

YOU SHOULD: start the Escher-esque climb of steps back to your pen-sione.

DO NOT: do what I do now.

I take a slow look around the table so it doesn’t seem like I’m looking at him. I know him. He’s a certain half-French, half-Italian photographer from the Roman fountain last week. The cocky, handsome stranger had pissed me off, and I’d taken the high road, instead of a ride in his sports car. Since that day, I’d distracted myself pretty fantastically, but Frantonio (I’d decided to call him this since I never got his name), kept slipping back into my mind.

Tonight when we were introduced we both pretended not to recognize each other. Now, he sips espresso, listening to his friend talk about football while staring at me. Is it hot in here? When we met in Rome, he had the upper hand. I decide now that tonight will be different. Seduction is a fine art to be practiced by masters. Rembrandt. Degas. Renoir. Me, I’m more of a Pollock. It’s definitely hot in here.

I fill my glass with ice from the Prosecco bucket, lift my hair, and roll the glass gently against my neck, willing him to watch me. How sexy is this? Unfortunately, I’ve forgotten the bright red “Luscious Passion” lipstick on my glass, and I now have red smears on my neck as if I’ve been recently strangled. Sadly, I am unaware of this. Seeing that I’ve got his attention, I shift my weight so the neck of my dress drapes open enough for the lace of my bra to show. Glancing down, I then remember my one sexy bra had smelled like a gladiator in the Colosseum after he’d been beaten and buried for thousands of years. Tonight I’ve worn my sensible, once-white-now-gray-and-fraying Target bra. I quickly sit up straight again. Or at least what I think is straight. The pictures on the wall opposite all slope downhill as if I’m on a cruise ship. I’m sure it has nothing to do with all the wine I’ve had.

I know he recognizes me also. How could he not? It was only a brief encounter, but I remembered every inch of him. I allow my eyes to wander over his nicely shaped forearms, his dirty blond, perfectly ruffled hair, the graceful arc of his collarbone, his strong jawline peppered with stubble, and the firm curve of his lip. But what’s been creeping into my dreams are those eyes, framed by his glasses—deep brown with hints of gold and playful, curling lashes. He is gorgeous. Here’s a second chance to see what’s behind door number one. It’s now or never. I rise slowly. I’m not a person who passes up risky potential for a safe bet. As I walk toward the hall that leads to the bathroom, I throw Frantonio a sexy smile. Andiamo. Let’s go.

IF YOU’VE MADE IT THIS FAR, FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Quick pee and hand wash.

2. Cleavage hike.

3. Breath check.

4. Pit sniff and pit wipe

5. In the hall, drape yourself against the wall and channel your best Jessica (Biel, Alba, Simpson, for me it’s Rabbit).

6. Wait.

DO NOT: reapply previously mentioned “Luscious Passion” red lipstick
