Review: Surprise, Baby! by Lex Martin & Leslie McAdams

Buy on Amazon | Barnes and Noble

Unfortunately, I didn't love Surprise, Baby. It was fine; nothing more, nothing less. Everything was fine. The romance, the overall story.

The story centers on Drew & Kendall. Two people who don't exactly get along and only know each other because their best friends are dating. After a night of passion,  Kendall becomes pregnant.

I didn't know prior to reading that this book is a spin-off another book. Basically, these characters had been introduced in another book. Although the book had been about their friends, it felt like I was missing something big that had happened in that previous book. I didn't fully get a handle on Kendall or Drew. Something was missing. It was hard to imagine this "history" that they were supposed to have. The book doesn't try to go in depth with the history, it moves as if the reader was fully aware of these characters.

I think this tampered with my overall experience while reading this book. Had I read the previous book, I may have enjoyed this one more.

Final Analysis

Surprise, Baby fails to generate an overall enjoyable plot and interesting romance.
