Review: Maybe One Day by Catherine Bybee

If you’ve been following the D’Angelos from the amazing series by bestselling author Catherine Bybee, then her latest, Maybe One Day, will feature the heart and matriarch of the family, Mari D’Angelo. She is long overdue for the next chapter of her life. After raising her family, it’s time for her to live again. At front and center, we experience a mother rediscovering her femininity, taking a chance to choose to love again and redefining her life beyond the expectations of familial obligations.

If you are a woman over 50, who thought your life was over, all you need is the right person to bring out a new vibrancy to spark the next chapter of your life. Mari D’Angelo is a heroine you can’t help but fall in love with. She is a strong, devoted mother and grandmother, and a hardworking business woman that has built a wonderful life for her family after the death of her late husband. In terms of love, there wasn’t a second thought about it being considered part of her life again. When her best friend Rosa suggested a singles cruise, little did she know her second chance would sail into her life, resuscitating a vibrancy that ignited a spark waiting to be relit.

When James enters her life, it’s undeniable how unexpectedly perfect they are together. That spark, going from dim to light, captures a tender, mature real connection that is refreshing and honest. Their union is a blend of the rediscovery of the beginning of falling in love with the vulnerability of starting over in a place of life where so many don’t believe it will ever happen again. Or simply just don’t believe they can.

There are a few things that stand out in the book for me that I feel many of you will relate to. You have Mari’s loyalty to her late husband, her fear of disappointing her adult children, and whether real love can develop as she navigates her internal conflict. That’s why you will love James. He’s patient, understanding and his devotion to her enables him to be in the trenches with her because he sees not only someone special but worth waiting for. Their relationship, a slow-burn but magical, beautiful and a purity that you just can’t help but root for them.

There’s another moment that I absolutely loved. When they first kiss, and as she feels youthful again, James finds the joy of her rediscovering herself as a woman. This moment was so profound because it paralleled the perception that Luca had confronted her about why she wanted a relationship, weren’t they enough for her just being their mother and grandmother. No, Mari wasn’t just a mother and a grandmother, she was a woman. A woman who lived her life and fulfilled her obligations as a mother but was entitled to reclaim her identity as a beautiful woman who deserved to be loved and taken care of also.

Maybe One Day makes you believe in love all over again. Mari’s story isn’t just about her finding love. It’s about the courage to step beyond the defined role of mother to woman again, healing yourself after moving on from losing the love of your life, the quiet, fulfilled opening of your heart when you thought that part of your life was over. This book was a reminder that it’s never too late for love and that sometimes the best chapters of life are the ones we never expected to write.

Whether you're already hooked on the series or meeting the D’Angelos for the first time, please dive into the series and read them in order. I want your experience for this book to come full circle. I promise you will not regret it and love it more.

Review: No More Yesterdays by Catherine Bybee

Author Catherine Bybee concludes The Heirs series with her latest, No More Yesterdays. Saving her best for last, it’s filled with explosive chemistry, dangerous suspense, and characters that will be unforgettable.

Front and center is Alex Stone. Everything we love about her was highlighted and how bright she shined. Intelligent, independent and strong, you can’t help but root for this fierce heroine from the first page. As you know, this powerhouse CEO was thrown into it all after inheriting her late father’s empire. She is faced with secrets, danger and an unexpected twist in her life that no one expected to come.

Enter Hawk Bronson, the bodyguard whose job is to protect Alex but whose heart soon finds itself on the line. Their energy sizzles with tension, fun banter, and deep emotional resonance, making every interaction charged.

This book was very different from the first two. What really sets this book apart is the seamless blend of suspense with heartfelt romance. You feel every threat, deep dark hidden secrets and the emotional ride is just as exciting as the physical danger described. There is an exciting bolt of adrenaline that runs through this book with its pulsing twists and moments of vulnerability and ease of past wounds that make you want to keep reading.

No More Yesterdays was a fast-paced, emotionally charged romantic suspense that was impossible to put down. Each book in the series brought their own flare that was fitting for their collective journeys to unfold. If you have been following the series and haven’t read this one yet, you’re in for a good read. If you’re new to the series and love good characters especially strong heroines, steamy slow burn romance or just a fan of romance suspense then I would recommend checking this one out.

Review: The Forgotten One by Catherine Bybee

Catherine Bybee brings us back to the Stones with the second book in The Heirs series, The Forgotten One. This novel delivers a blend of family drama, unexpected wealth, and sizzling attraction.

At the heart of the story is Sarah McNeilly, a journalist known for uncovering truths rather than creating sensationalized stories.Given the task to find Maximillian Smith, prepared to do what needs to be done wasn’t prepared to find a man whose life was turned upside down overnight.

Max, once just a regular guy, suddenly finds himself part of the billionaire Stone family, facing the kind of scrutiny he never imagined. And with Sarah in his course, the chemistry between them is undeniable.

The chemistry between Sara and Max was a slow burn romance that developed beautifully. Beyond the romance, the novel is packed with family mysteries, high-stakes revelations, and deep emotional moments as Max uncovers his past and what it truly means to belong. The transition of the familial relationship between Alex, Chase added another dimension to the story that gave it depth and authenticity.

Once again another novel by Catherine Bybee that just is such a wonderful read. So far this has been a good series. I’m on the fence if I should say you can read as a standalone but there are some key facts that would make the transition easier into book two, so I would recommend starting with All Our Tomorrows. If you are a fan of romantic suspense, billionaire drama, and warm second chances you will enjoy this book. If you’ve been following the series, make sure you keep your eyes open for the third concluding book, No More Yesterdays.

Review: All Our Tomorrows by Catherine Bybee

In All Our Tomorrows, Catherine Bybee gives us a captivating story of family, power, and unexpected romance. The book centers on Chase Stone, a self-made man who suddenly inherits his estranged father's multibillion-dollar business, along with some dark family secrets. Paired with Piper Maddox, his father’s assistant, Chase faces not only the challenge of navigating his father’s business but also his growing feelings for Piper.

Chase, having put some distance between himself and his father, is thrown into a corporate world he never wanted to enter. The twist of finding a half-brother adds another layer of complexity, pushing Chase and his sister Alex into a time crunch before anyone with poor intentions makes them known.

Piper, smart, fierce and independent, brings a captivating charm to the story. Her tough exterior and reluctance to be involved with another Stone family member, create interesting tension with Chase. The way their relationship develops in the book just has you hooked. As we get to know them, between their witty banter, letting their guards down and the many secrets that keep unraveling, they become more engaging to not want to keep reading.

The mystery of the third sibling, Max, creates a curiosity within its own storyline. I will say that leading up to his introduction, I feel a little robbed because the anticipation leading up to that moment had me on the edge needing to find out but I’m patient and will wait to see what’s to come in the next book.

This book had me hooked and I didn’t want to stop reading. As a huge fan of Catheine Bybee, this was something different that I hadn’t experienced before and I love it. Her other books have a subtle, sweep you away feeling but this series has you engaged in a way that you want to keep reading and don’t stop. I feel like the characters in this book are bolder, fierce and grab your attention in a way that is different from the others. The plot twists and unravels will keep you invested until the end turning those pages.

I’m excited to see where this series goes. The next book, The Forgotten One should ease on into our curiosity about Max. Look out for that book in November. I will say this was longer than I expected but definitely worth the read. If you haven’t read yet, add this to your list. If you are new to Catherine Bybee, make sure you check this out as well as her other books.

Review: The Whole Time by Catherine Bybee

About the Book

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Catherine Bybee comes a tale of a strong-willed dancer exercising her independence and the rich biker she can’t let go.

Salena Barone has broken free of her family and moved into an apartment above the D’Angelos' restaurant, where she works as a manager—without a husband, thank you very much. But even on a restaurant salary, she soon finds herself strapped for cash. Salena’s never been afraid of living on the wild side, though, so she takes on a side hustle that’ll raise big bucks…and eyebrows, if anyone finds out.

Tattooed biker Ryan is the youngest of the wealthy Rutledge wine family and has never dreamed of rings, forever, or continuing the family business. He’s perfectly happy living his own life and helping out hardworking folks in his own way.

When these two independent singles spot each other at a Rutledge-D’Angelo wedding, the attraction is instant. But as their friendship with benefits evolves into something more, the secrets Salena’s keeping—from family, friends, and Ryan—threaten the happily ever after she never knew she wanted.

Review

With the conclusion of The D’Angelos series, The Whole Time, Catherine Bybee wraps up this wonderful series with Salena. Salena has been a tough one to crack but as we see with this book, her hea finally came and it couldn’t have been any sweeter.

With the series, I’m glad Salena was saved for the end. Salena has been labeled wild and troubled but deep down, she has the biggest heart and would fiercely protect the ones she loved. Her love life hasn’t been the greatest but I think mostly due to her protecting her heart from being broken. With someone for everyone, she met Ryan who was a little bit naughty but a great guy. There couldn’t have been two more perfect characters to meet than these two. I couldn’t get enough of them and their journey was worth every page in the book. Two broken people coming together not realizing they were healing themselves together kept me turning the pages.

As usual, we are surrounded by the D’Angelos clan who’s strength and commitment to being there for each other brings love to the book. We get to know more about her parents and really gain insight on why Salena is who she is. Much of the experiences in her family and their perspective had shaped her to make the choices she did. Going through life seeking their approval and love and it being met with an old school mentality really crippled her. So, getting to see her moving out, gaining her independence and finally being in the driver seat of her life, really was a nice journey to see her get to where she was meant to be. Even though her behavior was predictable in the eyes of what people perceived her to be, it was nice getting to see her be able to become the best version of herself.

Overall, this has been a wonderful series with the D’Angelo family. With each book they bring you in as if you’re part of their family. There was something so inviting and memorable about these characters that you just don’t want to let go of. If you haven’t checked this one out, add it to your tbr list.
